I thought US Hiking was doing this hike on Saturday but found out sometimes they hike on Sundays. 

When I showed up at the trailhead, a minute late Saturday morning, I found I was the only hiker there. Once I got up to higher ground and could get  on my phone, the problem was obvious.

You might think I was just in the mood for a good long, fast SATURDAY hike, which I was. I'll have to look closer at the day next time I hike with U.S. Hiking.

The hike was the first time I'd done the Bolinas Ridge Trail from the trailhead on Sir Francis Drake Blvd to the Fairfax-Bolinas Rd. 

The 1st 6 miles of the trail are a pastoral setting with gently sloped, flower covered hills, eventually turning into cooling redwoods, with a smaller exposed section of chapparal and then more redwoods before reaching the Fairfax-Bolinas junction. 

It's a hike with a decent amount of elevation gain, most of it gradual. I missed the group hike but made up for it with a great solo hike.
