Glasgow Saturday Social Spin - Heron Brunch Run

Weather dependant, even as I write this there are 60 mph gusts outside. If that's the case next weekend then this will be cancelled.

Saturday social spin, 40 miles out the city to the country roads at the earliest opportunity, then a meander over to the Heron Farm shop, before heading back to Glasgow.

We will go as fast as the slowest rider so if you are new to cycling, not used to riding with a group, just getting back in to it and finding the idea of cycling with others daunting please come along.

There are a few climbs in this, up Bonnyton and Ardochrig rig. If you're at the back of the group that's no problem, someone has to be. No one will judge, or get annoyed about the pace. Should the group spilt on the hill the riders at the front will wait for those of us at the back.

Suited more so for road, gravel/cross/adventure bikes. If you have a hybrid or mountain bike and would be interested in social rides find me on instagram and send me a message and we'll work on rides to accommodate.

Okay so the route - simple stuff. Meet at Merchant City, leave Glasgow via the Southside and head towards Waterside where we will go up Floors road then then the climb passed Bonnyton golf course.

When in Eaglesham we'll head over the country roads to Heron for a stop (they do coffee, tea, cake, hot rolls so bring your card or money) then back to Glasgow via Jackton, Thorntonhall and to Glasgow via Southside again. Feel free to drop off early if we're passing you're house or come back to City Centre for a pint and a chat.

It should go without saying this ride is not a safe space for racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, or opinions about people's weight. If that's the sort of chat you want in a group ride this isn't the place for you.
