Had an interesting interaction with park rangers this morning. The gate is closed until 8:30, and then when I checked in they asked me where I was going. In hindsight I should have just lied and said I was going to hike a few miles. When they found out that I wanted to run Cerro San Ramón out-and-back in a day they pulled me inside and made me provide a Chilean phone number, address, passport number, etc… I understand they were just concerned about safety but I couldn’t help but feel singled out and I reassured them that I do this stuff all the time. 

To add to it, homeboy asked me about Donald Trump. This is why you always say you are from Canada instead lol 🇨🇦 They told me it would take as long to get to the summit as it did roundtrip. So, thank you for lighting a fire under me. Nothing motivates me more than proving men wrong. 

Other than that, beautiful route. Very steep, dusty, and slippery- like sliding down on your butt slippery. Got incredibly hot and a little sunburned near the end. But omg LIZARDS GALORE. They were everywhere today. Almost stepped on a few 🦎
