Strong front of the field! Noah was gone at the gun, and Simon got a good 30sec gap at the start that I couldn’t close. Slowly put a maybe 30-40sec gap into Eric over the course of the climb, and went step for step with Sage for the first 30 min before the last steep pitch prior the top of Super Bee, when I made a little dig to open up a 15 sec gap on him to the top of Storm King. Still just not the fastest downhill skier though and Eric came from behind and absolutely smoked me in a full tuck! Put a good 40 sec into me after he passed to the finish. So 3rd to the top of the climb but 4th overall in the end. So great to meet and chat with Sage and Eric after and have one of the legends of mountain running show up to race! Super happy with my progress this season. Here’s to hoping I’m somehow able to transfer that fitness over to running!
