Got up at 5 in Geneva, and by the time we got to Chamonix just before 8 things were looking grim. Raining and totally socked in, we decided to trust the marginally clearing forecast and took the Midi to the top. After a relaxed hour waiting for visibility, we decided to “just take a look”, and sure enough we’re rewarded with clearing blue skies and a great run down the Vallée Blanche. One to remember.
