I parked at the Superior Hiking Trail Silver Bay Trail Head. It is located on Penn Blvd and is a giant parking lot that was empty while I was there. It took me 2 hours 10 minutes (7.2 miles) to reach the HP. This HP was definitely the highlight of my trip. The views were amazing and there was some serious drop offs in elevation. The wind was crazy at the top. As a side note, I got to see two fighter jets shooting off flares and making sharp turns above me. I completed Mount Trudee as the third climb of my 20 mile hike for the day in which I also highpointed at Mariner Mountain, Round Mountain, Raven Rock, and Papasay Ridge. It was basically from Silver Bay to Tettegouche State Park and back. I made the mistake of not bringing food or water so the last couple miles were tough (I hadn't planned on doing it all at once). I didn't see a single person the whole hike. It had been a couple weeks since the last snowfall so the Superior Hiking Trail was packed down enough for running shoes and easy to follow. Some of this information will be repeated in my other reports so you don't have to jump between them if you aren't looking to do all the points.
