And the grid grind is back. Good reintroduction to longer hikes after a few low-key months. Really glad I decided not to start with a Pemi.

Solid hike with Jason today, even if conditions weren't quite ideal. More humid than we anticipated, especially on the early climbs, and a good bit of sun later on had us both wishing we brought more water. We both made it out without any real issue, with shiny new traverse PRs to boot. Didn't quite get Jason's sub-6, but we're close and it certainly is possible, maybe next month. 

Nutrition wasn't great, though the lack of fluids was by far the greater factor. A pint of ice cream on Wildcat A, Van Leeuwen Banana Cream Pie (760cal), 1L water and 2-12oz Gatorade's (80cal ea). So 920 calories consumed for 3100+ calories burned according to the watch. I think another 0.5-1L would have solved our sub-6 issue and made the hike as a whole more enjoyable, but we live and learn. 

All in all a good day in the whites. Five more peaks for the grid (I already had Carter Dome in August), and another pint of my "fancy" ice cream, bringing that up to 18. I've now run out of limited edition flavors currently available, so gonna try a normal pint of fancy ice cream tomorrow. Regardless, their normal flavor variety will not fulfill my different pint on each summit goal, so really gonna need a bunch more limited editions. This one will take a while to complete, probably long after my grid journey is over.
