The Sand Dune Trail isn't a well-maintained trail but even so, this social route crossing a series of large sand dunes on Cape Cod is a popular local hike. Even though the route as mapped only covers two miles round-trip, hiking through the soft, shifting sand of the dunes is a physically demanding experience.
When you reach the shore with its impressive views of the Atlantic, be sure to take a breather and take in the majesty of the ocean before heading back through the dunes.
