The hike to the Empire Bluff Overlook is short and easy, but that doesn't make the views any less impressive! When you reach the overlook, you'll be standing on top of a perched dune that rises over 400 feet above Lake Michigan. This overlook is one of the most popular tourist stops in Sleeping Bear Dune National Lakeshore.
From the overlook, you'll enjoy stunning views up and down the coast of the National Lakeshore itself, as well as the massive expanse of Lake Michigan. Weather permitting, you can also spot South Manitou Island, Point Betsie, and more.
