Bear Mountain Loop

Hiking Trail

Details
3.76 mi
1,188 ft
This hiking loop takes you from the shore of the Hudson River to the summit of Bear Mountain then returns via the Appalachian Trail. At the summit, there’s a tower with fantastic views of the surrounding landscape and the beautiful Bear Mountain Suspension Bridge. Most hikers choose to complete the loop in a counterclockwise direction, but both ways are fun. This hike is one of the most popular trails among Strava members in the New York Metropolitan Area. It’s only an hour drive from downtown Manhattan.
