An awe-inspiring overlook hike, and a ranger favorite for watching the sunset.

The Biocourt Overlook is an awe-inspiring overlook hike that you cannot miss during your visit to Theodore Roosevelt National Park. Per the park, the late "Theodore Roosevelt described the Little Missouri Badlands as "... a land of vast, silent spaces..." and standing at the Biocourt Overlook, you can understand what he meant." Though you could enjoy the views from the comfort of your vehicle at the main overlook, this short family-friendly trail is a must-do for anyone visiting the park.

Paired with [Wind Canyon Trail]( these two easy hikes are ranger-favorites for enjoying the sunset in the park. From the vista, "you can even see beyond the park boundaries, where some of the larger buttes in the area stand, silhouetted against the horizon," the park notes. For those interested in the history and ecology of the area, exhibits can be found at many of the overlooks, including Biocourt.

The trailhead is located off of Scenic Loop Drive, moments from the [main overlook]( Neither water nor restrooms are available, though there is plenty of parking for busses and RVs. Overflow parking is also available along the main road.
