An easy but popular hike in Nockamixon State Park.

The Elephant Trail is an easy but popular hike in Nockamixon State Park. This beautiful state park is located on the shores of 1,450-acre Lake Nockamixon—a popular destination for boaters, fishers, and bird watchers. While the state park is home to more than 20 miles of trails, the Elephant Trail Loop is undoubtedly the most popular.

The loop begins by running along the shores of the lake, providing incredible views along the way, before looping inland into the deep forest and back to the trailhead.

These trails are also popular with equestrian users, so be sure to look out for horses as you hike and be prepared to yield the trail if you encounter any.
