Hall of Mosses Trail

Hiking Trail

Easy
1.07 mi
80 ft
Short but beautiful hike in the Hoh Rainforest.

This short hike affords enchanting scenery deep beneath the canopy of the rainforest, with massive screens of moss hanging from the towering trees. On this quick loop, you’ll enjoy "educational signage and plenty of opportunity to explore some of Washington's gorgeous, lush rainforests,” according to [](

The deep, lush forest covered in moss is a result of the incredible 140 inches of precipitation that the Hoh Rain Forest receives every year. "The Hoh is one of the finest remaining examples of temperate rainforest in the United States and is one of [Olympic National Park’s] most popular destinations,” according to [](

"The Hoh is home to some of North America’s giants,” the NPS continues. "As you traverse the trails, you may feel miniscule in comparison to the Sitka Spruce, Red Cedar, Big Leaf Maple and Douglas Fir that thrive here."

Combine the Hall of Mosses Trail with the [Hoh Rainforest Loop]( for a slightly longer hike.

Please note that pets are not allowed on any trails in the Hoh Rain Forest. Written by Greg Heil
