Evening Run

new tricks, old dogs

what a day. i started out feeling pretty good, and got through the first 24 in about 5.5 hours. but then the heat kicked in and the knee pain broke through the advil... and i spent the rest of the day spelunking in the pain cave. i knew that i'd pay the price for getting myself injured and not running much recently, but this was without a doubt the hardest thing i've ever done.

many thanks to Georgia Reilly for crewing, nicole haas for the PT sessions that saved this race, everyone back home for sending support and telling me i'm soft, the countless aid station volunteers and race organizers, and all my fellow hooligans who raced alongside me. these feel like my people, and i know i'll be back for more. hopefully i'll be healthier and stronger for the next one!
