Went out with the idea of sussing how the route goes in just trail running shoes rather than climbing shoes. Saw I was making good time so went ahead and pushed a little. Wasn’t feeling great and twisted my ankle a bit on the way down but still shaved off some time because of eliminating the time lost in transition. What a beautiful part of the world to experience

Splits:
37:27 to base of climb
18:00 climb to summit (3min slower than with climbing shoes)
4:16 downclimb/scramble/run to beginning of climbers’ trail switchbacks
3:02 down to base of climb
19:18 back to the start
1:22:05 total (2:31 off previous best time)
