At about 1.5 miles, a construction worker called out that a pit bull was chasing me. I spun around to see a huge stray panting behind me. I was afraid for a moment, but he shuffled away when I stopped running.

Later, around mile 4, this bloodthirsty little shit came at me and snapped at my ankles. I scolded, offered my hand for smelling, and slowly backed away. It eyed me suspiciously until I rounded the corner out of sight.

It’s always the little dogs.
