As serendipity would have it, we got word through our friends in PC Py of another RPCV that was also bikepacking on a similar route. And it just so happened he was also in the same town as us. We got his contact and met him in the plaza Wednesday evening. Jeremy is a 53yo grade school teacher from California who volunteered in Paraguay back in the early 2000s where he met his wife. He's currently on a year long sabbatical and this is how he's decided to spend a part of it. We've decided to ride together for the foreseeable future. He's on a road bike so our paths may diverge at some point. It's truly a joy to have another member in the group. He brings fresh energy, perspective, and a guitar! I even got to draft off him for about 10km today! He's more of Tomás's speed though, so im glad he'll have some company back there for the long stretches ahead. Who knows, maybe I'll hang back with them... Not today though, the tailwind and asphalt were too delicious to not give her a lil go ahead today. In the process of pushing ahead, I ended up meeting a cycling group on the ruta today. They appeared from behind me and hung with me while we chatted about the adventure and their group. Some really accomplished riders, actually! Apparently this is a hotspot for cycling in Argentina. 
SN: It really didn't feel like I gained any elevation today.. could've sworn we were going downhill.
SSN: today we surpassed 1000mi!
