The best time of the year! Other activities are fun, but nothing beats downhill winter sports.

The first Whiteface day trip from Syracuse. It required a lot of driving (4 hours both way) and getting up at 3 in the morning, but imo it was so worth it. I'd totally do again. This trip didn't feel that much more strenuous than a long Gore day trip. Also somehow my day pass was only 30$. I think they charged me for a senior citizen ticket. I didn't ask questions. Lolz.

I snowboarded for the morning then switched to skiing at lunch. This worked out awesome because I got the floaty fresh powder with the Snowboard then the icy compacted snow with the skis.

Snowboarding came back really quickly to me as normal in past seasons. Skiing needs some work. I have an overconfidence problem that is leading to bad habits and techniques. I'd like to learn how to ski properly at some point for sharper turns and more control. Good thing I've got the whole season to polish.

Also 53 miles? I'm dubious at best. We did slam the day with runs (probably the most for a Whiteface day in my history, but 53 miles is a ton). Maybe it was because less of the shorter runs were open causing us to do long flowy trails. Idk I'ma take it.
