Still not my slowest, even on this course! If I had to choose between this race going really well or the trials going really well I'd obviously pick the trials 10 times out of 10. That being said it's always tough to be really confident in a goal and then have it slowly fall apart. Basically everything that could have gone wrong did. Only my 1st and 4th bottles made it on the course, but honestly I don't think that was the biggest difference maker. My hips and glutes started to feel a little weird around 16 miles, had to make a bathroom stop at mile 20, and by the time I hit the bridge my hips were fully locked up, so I shuffled my way to the finish. Still don't know how to DNF marathon, lmao. Not sure what I'll do next other than Project 13.1 in March, but I might defer Boston even if I get elite start status. Anyways, time for a nice break to reset.
