Low mojo day so decided to go backyard shwacking to scout the forbidden Frogger Traverse across 289 to the town forest. Brook was running high and presented a greater challenge than anticipated. Found some flagging tape and followed it to a fire ring and camp chair that look like they haven’t been used in a few seasons. Any guesses on what the 4x4 between trees is for? Followed some decades old logged stumps through a thorn thicket back to the trail to try my luck at the north end. No good crossing but a potential pipe route that’s got Brian Burke written all over it. On the way back up I noticed a hatchet chopped stump. Fresh, very curious. Find a second, then a third, and do my best to follow but they peter out and as I fan out to search the headlamp starts flickering low battery mode cause I forgot to charge it after last night and didn’t want to bring a second string torch. Round it out with a little bike path push and wiener lap 🌭 To be continued.
