Afternoon Run

First miles on the Continental Divide Trail

Out on the trails got charged by a husky-mutt looking dog that was not afraid of me at all and didn’t back off when I was yelling at it. Didn’t know if it was a res-dog (half-wild dogs on the reservation that get aggressive toward people). It wouldn’t leave me alone and kept either running so close behind me that it was almost touching my legs or running right in front of me and then stopping. After playing chicken with this dog for a while I got the sense that it wasn’t seeking violence, so I decided to run with it and see how far it would run with me. Eventually we ran into the owners (not a res-dog, just an excited 1 year old), and all was well.
