2025 off to a great start 😂

We wanted to do a lazy glacier tourist ski that somehow turned into rappelling off a tree with iPhone as flashlight. 

Really really cold today - I was wearing my puffy and big mitts the whole time. Superb sunset colors at the Le Tour glacier col and lots of glacier ice out in its icy blue color. 

Then, while we knew we should stick to the left to ski down, so many tracks went right and snow looked so much better there so we did too. Turns out most of those tracks went to the refuge, but some continued down. As we made enough turns the split right was very far away, I remembered the classic Chamonix trick of flying over cliffs. 

So as the sun set we started climbing back towards the foot path, traversing the edge of the cliff, then eventually found another couloir that led to Le Tour. 

Then straight to pizza.
