Because I stayed near the river it was a bone chilling cold night. So I left with everything on, wind pants, wind jacket and puffy. The puffy eventually came off but with the wind and temps remaining in the 30s, everything else stayed on. Today was a short one to the finish line. Right off the I had a good climb then it eventually leveled off. I made it back to familiar grounds, the Appalachian Trail and man that felt good...flooded memories of my first 2011 hike on this exact trail and my 2023 thru hike. I came across probably 30 Northbounders embarking on their thru hikes,  pretty neat to witness. Once I made it down off Springer and into Amicalola Falls I bought a sandwich, a soda,and chips and had lunch. Then I registered for the 2025 Appalachian Trail tag. Now I wait until my wife picks me up on Wednesday. So in-between now and then, I'll hike around here taking it easy since my ultra is right around the corner. Thanks for following along folks, that's a wrap on this amazing adventure, I loved every minute of it.
