May 8, 2021 - my first hike in the ADK.
My friends Shawn, Tim and I camped at the Lillian Brook leanto and hiked the Dix Range. We bagged 4 of the 5 peaks in the range, biting off more than some of us could chew. We made a group decision to forgo our final objective, Dix Mountain. We would save it for another day.. 

getting back to camp was in the groups best interest. Being young and spunky, I remember initially considering sending them packing off the ridge down to camp, while I grabbed Dix alone. Of course that’s not at all what happened. Dusk was approaching and we stuck together. We would save it for another day.. well today was that day and it was a beaut
