Man, what a run. Honestly...easier than I expected? In the most humble way possible. 

640 ferry down to Perth Amboy, then a quick cut through the Jersey exurbs to Rutgers and the D&R rail trail. Could've have taken the canal all the way to Trenton if I had had a gravel bike. For roadies like myself Canal Rd parallels the trail for a good chunk of the route.

Pit stop in Princeton, then avoided Trenton by cutting over to Washington Crossing and bridging the Delaware into Bucks County. Handful of rail trails that can be navigated on a road bike and then you're in the Philly suburbs. Chestnut Hill's hills reminded me of my past life in more ways than one. Wissahickon Valley Park is beautiful this time of year in particular. Ride along the creek until you get to the Schuykill and then you're there. That simple.

All in all, a great ride that will be a staple for years to come. Having friends in the city and knowing you're getting ever closer to beer and a cheesesteak is a great motivator.
