Friday I woke up with a scratchy voice that by Saturday had morphed into a cold.  I've chased off a cold before by going on a strenuous hike but a long hike outside the city wasn't in the picture. A hike down California Street and back seemed like a good way to shake off the cold. At California's end I decided I'd had enough of California and headed towards the water. After skirting the bay, I made the steep climb up Laguna, and headed down it to home. The cold is still with me but at least it hasn't gotten worse.
